an exhibition tour
As a contributing artist to Life, Death, Love and Justice, curated by Didem Yazıcı and Peter Sit with assistant curator Burcu Çimen at Yapı Kredi Kültür Sanat (15 September 2022 – 8 January 2023), Ayşe Draz created and directed a participatory audio performance and performative exhibition tour developed in direct response to the works on display. Inviting participants into a wandering through the exhibition space, one in which the movement of bodies and the flow of time are themselves woven into the experience, the tour proposes different ways of relating to the works: drifting between the monumental and the everyday, between the here and now and the poetic worlds the works conjure. Rather than seeking to explain, it explores new forms of being together and sharing the same time and space, bringing a theatrical and sensory dimension to a show that united artists from Turkey and beyond to look at injustice, resistance, love and hope across different geographies.
