:mentalKLINIK is one of Turkey's most internationally recognized contemporary artist duos, whose practice, spanning installation, performance, publication, and conceptual art, consistently operates beyond the boundaries of traditional art distribution, taking possession of systems, institutions, and everyday life simultaneously.
Frozen 45" transports its audience into an imagined Biot technosociety where the boundaries between human and object no longer exist. Conceived as a cosmetic product, a regulator of time and portrait sculptor, it invites visitors to undergo a speculative treatment: a spray applied to the face while leaning against a conical octagonal stupa, accompanied by a thermo-sensitive pastille that monitors the effects for exactly 45 minutes, the estimated duration of the exhibition visit. At the cost of €3, the work operates at the intersection of pharmacopoeia, relational aesthetics, and the age-old human dream of mastering time. Whether placebo or otherwise, Frozen 45" implicates the museum itself as the last site where such experiments might still be conducted, and the visitor as both actor and subject of the work.
