SILENT DISCO

Silent Disco in Public Space is a project conceived by Ayşe Draz in  2023, bringing a silent disco into the streets of Istanbul as a quiet act of reclamation. Participants moved through public space wearing wireless headphones, dancing to music only they could hear, turning sidewalks and squares into temporary stages without disturbing the city around them. The silence was intentional: a way of occupying space gently but undeniably, asking what it means to claim a city through the body without demanding it surrender anything in return.
