Silent Questions

Silent Questions is a performance conceived and directed by Ayşe Draz, rooted in participation, witnessing, and collective thinking, in direct dialogue with Suzanne Lacy's practice.

Since the Suzanne Lacy: Birlikte/Togæther  exhibition opened at Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum, until the performance date nearly 500 visitors had anonymously shared their questions on violence against women, hope, and change. Draz, together with Meliz Ergin, shaped these voices into a text, and from that text, performers gave the questions back as sound, as body, as presence. Echoing through the museum space, the questions transformed into a shared memory.

Presented on November 25, 2025 at Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Istanbul, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Silent Questions invited its audience into that witnessing; to become, for a moment, part of a temporary community.
The performance featured: Ayşe Draz, Adil Ömer Çetindağ, Begüm Akay, Berhan Alpergin, Egemen Sorgut, Gülüm Baltacıgil Gacoin, Merve Sude İyidoğan, Meyra Ahsen Temel, and Yağmur Ruken Kahraman.
